About the event
Please join us! Great River Greening will demonstrate the use of biochar kilns for converting waste wood into soil enriching biochar as a cleaner burning, alternative to open pile burning. GRG staff will be onsite operating an Oregon & Ring of Fire biochar kiln.
Schedule
11:00a - 11:15a: Observe Ignition
11:15a - 12:45p: Proper feeding of waste wood.
12:45p -1:00p: Kiln quench, biochar assessment, uses, etc.
This event is open to all. Come for all or part of the demonstration. Please register so we can communicate changes.

Who Should Attend?
Natural System Managers, Conservation Professionals, Fire Professionals, Foresters, Conservation Service Providers, Agricultural Producers and Gardeners.
Day of: Please arrive promptly, allowing time for parking and a short walk.
Safety: Ensuring safety is our highest priority. It is important that event participants wear close-toed shoes and long sleeves to protect against the elements. We recommend dressing for the weather; layers are key.
