About the event

This month’s Char Talk, hosted by the Minnesota Biochar Initiative, explores how Biochar Innovators Society (BIS) is advancing biochar adoption at scale through a globally connected, locally driven model. Drawing on real-world experience across Africa and the diaspora, this session will highlight how building local capacity, fostering collaboration, and supporting early-stage innovators can accelerate the development of resilient biochar ecosystems.

The discussion will explore:

  • BIS’s model for training and deploying country representatives across regions

  • How farmer training, community engagement, and local adoption drive scalable impact

  • The role of youth engagement, research partnerships, and regional hubs in expanding biochar deployment

  • Case studies showcasing support for innovators through TEA guidance, technology selection, and market development

  • How global collaboration, including partnerships with organizations like MNBI, strengthens the broader biochar ecosystem

Designed for organizations focused on scaling adoption, community-based programs, and international collaboration, this session offers practical insights into building and sustaining biochar initiatives across diverse geographies.

RSVP now by visiting mnbiocharinitiative.org/events to join us for this timely conversation—and bring your questions. If you can’t attend, a recording, transcript, and presentation materials will be shared afterward.
