About the event

In coordination with Cook County Highway Department, Great River Greening will be hosting training demonstration on use of flame cap biochar kilns (Ring of Fire) for converting waste wood into soil enriching biochar as a cleaner burning, alternative to open pile burning.


WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

Forestry, Fire professionals, Natural System Managers. Service Providers, Agriculture and Argro-forestry professionals, local SWCD and Municipal staff

 

Schedule

11:00 am-11:15 am: Observe Ignition

11:15 -11:45 pm: Proper feeding of waste wood

1:30-2:00 pm: Kiln quench, biochar assessment, uses,..

This event is open to all. Come for all or part of the demonstration. Please register so we can communicate changes.
